Blackjack for Real Money
There are not many casino games out there that are as popular as blackjack. Together with roulette and slots, blackjack is a game that most casino players like. The rules are simple and transparent, the game has a high tempo, and being lucky with the cards can lead to a big win. With that said, blackjack has everything a table game should have.
Like most games, blackjack started at traditional casinos. Over the years, it has become more and more popular among players, despite the fact that the rules of the game have not changed much at all.
Because of this, blackjack was one of the first games to find its way from land-based casinos to online casinos for players from and around the world. It was something that both players and casinos really wanted.
Rules for blackjack
As mentioned earlier in the introduction, blackjack is a very simple game. The goal is to have a total of 21 cards without exceeding. If you are under 21 but higher than the dealer, you win otherwise, you lose.
The game is usually played at the table with six to eight players, with a shoe containing between six to eight regular cards from a 52-card deck. The game begins with the dealer dealing a face-up card to each player who has bet chips and a card to themselves, usually face down. Then all players get another card face up and the dealer takes another face-up card as well.
Card denominations in blackjack are as follows:
Ace - 1 or 11 (always in favor of the player)
All-clad cords (K, Q, J) - 10
Other cards (10 and lower) - the denomination on the cards
So the goal of the game is to have a better hand than the dealer, but without exceeding 21. Based on their two cards and the dealer's face-up cards, the player gets two options (as well as a few more options, which we will discuss shortly).
Hit - Take another card
Stay - Do not take a card
After taking another card, players are given another option to either draw the next card or stay. This continues until the player reaches 21 or exceeds, that is, busts.
Real Money Blackjack: Payments & Special Rules
When all players have finished drawing their cards, the dealer will turn over their other cards. The dealer in blackjack is limited in terms of options. If their total is below 17, they need to draw another card. If it's 17 or more, they must stay, no matter what the player has.
If the dealer happens to bust (exceed 21), everyone with an active hand (those who did not bust) will receive a payment of 1: 1. If the dealer does not bust, their hand is compared to the hands of all players. Those who have a total amount higher than the dealers will win 1: 1. Those who have a lower amount lose their bet, while those who see have exactly the same will get their bet back without any profit.
